Goals
The UAS research cluster will welcome everyone who is interested in UAS, including but not limited to professors, students, AU staff, and others.
As a students, this cluster will provide you with a space where you can:
- learn more about UAS research at SCIS/FST and what research actually is,
- connect with professors who might then become your supervisors,
- learn about funding opportunities and research assistantships in UAS, and
- present your research and get feedback.
As a professors, this cluster will provide you with a space where you can:
- talk about your UAS research and learn more about each other’s research,
- bring forward ideas for collaborations, funding opportunities and research projects, and
- connect with students who are interested to work with you on topics related to UAS.
For everyone else, this cluster will provide you with a space where you can:
- meet professors and students who are doing research on UAS or are interested to do research on UAS and
- learn more about UAS research conducted in this cluster
In addition, this cluster aim at engaging students early in their studies to become members of the cluster so that they can learn more about what research actually is, get ideas on what kind of research they are interested in and connect early with professors so that they can prepare themselves well for their undergraduate projects or MSc IS essays, project or thesis (e.g., select the right courses, etc.).
Ultimately, the goals of the cluster are to:
- Provide students, professors and others with an excellent research environment where they can learn from each other, connect and collaborate,
- Increase disciplinary and interdisciplinary research activities, funding applications and research outcomes in the area of UAS,
- Let our students get familiar with research and research activities at FST early on and provide them with an environment where they can become part of the FST community, and
- Let our students learn more about how to develop advanced user adaptive systems, therefore preparing them to be successful in the ICT job market and their professional careers after graduation.
